Multiferroic heterostructure BaTiO3/?-Fe2O3 composite obtained by in situ reaction

Solid-state reaction between BaTiO3 and Fe2O3 was used to produce a multiferroic heterostructure composite. Commercial Fe(NO3)3?9H2O were suspended in ethanol for 30 minutes an ultrasound bath. The prepared mixture thermally processed at 300?C 6 h. Sintering 1300?C 1 h resulted of different phases, BaTiO3, BaFe12O19 Ba12Ti28Fe15O84, which confirmed by x-ray powder diffraction. A dense microstructure with small volume fraction closed porosity indicated the scanning electron microscopy, while homogeneous distribution Fe ions over phase visible from energy dispersive spectroscopy mapping. Doping formation magnetic hexaferrite as dielectric measurements that showed broadened maximum permittivity measured function temperature.
